Turns out, doing VOIP to one service that then pipes it through their gateway servers to another service gives sucky audio.
In short, fring-to-skype-on-iPhone sucks balls and is all echoey. Lifehacker can suck my dick if they plan on recommending I rush out and use software they haven’t bothered to try.
