It has come to my attention that certain parties are unable to keep up with my life solely through this blog – likely because I don’t really ever talk about my personal life.
Well, just for them I shall announce that I have a job… probably.
I applied to work at a new shop that’s opening in Derby selling Apple stuff (not an actual Apple Store mind). There was a phone interview, which lead to a real interview, and I seem to have impressed them at both because I was called today and asked to clarify what hours I could do. They also said that they’d like me to work as a technician (upgrades, repairs, authoritative shilling of products), as well as give in-store presentations on new technology, and that they’d call back when they knew when they wanted me to go for some training. They never explicitly said that I had a job though, so I am unsure.

So, I dicked about with javascript libraries instead of doing anything productive today.
First I tried lightbox one and two, but then I was enamoured by lightbox gone wild, and wanted that to tart up my staid navigation… thing.
They didn’t play nice together, however, so I kept searching until I found thickbox, able to handle fancy-schmancy fading-in of all sorts of content, be it images, divs or separate html files.
Seriously, click the “navigation” link up there. And now the post-image? Yeah, it’s one set of scripts doing that. Actually, the longest part of implementing it was making the navigation file.
Nice.
And apparently, if you press escape, it exits it. I can dig it. Certainly is nicer to use than all that clicking on hyperlinks, only to have to click on further hyperlinks ad nauseum.
