Macrumors were nice enough to post a direct download link to the iPhone 2.0 firmware earlier, so I grabbed it and stuffed it into my little phone like a fat kid stuffing marbles in his ass. Yeah, just like that.
The Good:
- Improved Mail.app
- App store
- MonkeymonkeymonkeyBALLLLLL
- Safari Seems Snappier ™
- iTunes remote is actually pretty bad-ass
The Bad:
- monkey ball is actually very very hard
- no surprises by way of stuff that was “missing” (e.g. notes sync, todo*, video recording, MMS, A2DP)
- no push support for apps… yet
The Ugly:
- £6 for a twitter client? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
- Most of the apps are butt-ugly, useless or both. Quelle surprise.
- Matt crying like a baby about having to pay to upgrade his Touch.
* everybody says that 3rd party devs can now add these features. Indeed there is no shortage of todo apps in the app store. I’m at a loss as to how a 3rd party dev can make an app that will sync with iCal in your goddamn mac though. Anyone? Notes and todo syncing really is the most glaring, retarded omission here.
